Hey! I just make a huge move from South Carolina to the very busy city of LA. I'm still overwhelmed by the craziness of life here compared to the small town stuff I've been surrounded by in the last few years, but at least I think I'm adjusted to the time difference finally. I left on May 10th, a Saturday, and reached LA on Thursday, spent 5 mights on the road doing about 500 miles a day. I didn't want to push my car too bad--it's the same car I drove the first time from San Diego to South Carolina. Yikes! It held up pretty good, just had two small problems--found out I have a slow leak in one tire and the plastic front piece of the wheel well decided to come loose in the middle of Arizona, and so got drug on asphalt going 70+ for a state and a half. *lol* Looks like crap but it didn't seem to harm anything. I think another state would have worn it off completely but as it is it's just hanging loose in pieces in front of my tire. Yeay.

So let's see, so far I've been to Sharky's which is good but not what I expected when told it would be "real Mexican food." But then I did work at a Taco Bell for some time and that might have messed up my idea of Mexican food. hehe We went to Magic Castle which was awesome. [link] One of the magicians pulled me on stage. Yeay! Very excited. I loved Richard Turner's act, which was all cards, which he showed us not trying to say it was magic but rather how card sharks can cheat. Mind blowing stuff. [link] The real thing that makes his act so crazy is that he's doing all of this blind. No way I could ever do it with 2 eyes!

The Asian market here is awesome. It's actually a mall that features several restaurants, a grocery store, several miscellaneous stores, karaoke, and an arcade! Kinda hard to play when the games are in Japanese (really need to learn the language!) We had a lot of fun playing a game that had huge Japanese drums. I did really really good, which surprised me. I guess with music I have rhythm to play, but I still can't dance worth a damn. *lol*

My sister also took me to a small con at the Hilton hotel, with was interesting. There was a real live freak show there, which was at a word, interesting. There wasn't much I hadn't seen on TV but to see it live was interesting. Very gross. I do wonder how one decides to be a freak for a living and hammer nails in their nose. Weird. Met some more people, which is good. Now if I can just remember their names... I decided that everyone needs to have name tags. But these people go by several names, so we need LED nametags that rotate between all the names they go by. Mine would only have two (Audrey and Mika) but some would need a lot more. Maybe they could have buttons so that you could change them yourself or set on rotate? That way if you're meeting someone in one context you could switch it to the right name. :)

Anyways, I'm striving to get into the toy design industry, or perhaps into props, so I'm off to start building a quick portfolio. Wish me luck!
